Joe Rogan wants Nick Diaz to return against McGregor
Joe Rogan is playing matchmaker on social media.
After Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz both called for a rubber match following their five-round battle, from which the former emerged victorious, at UFC 202 on Saturday, president Dana White was quick to shoot down any talks of a trilogy.
Rogan, the promotion's color commentator, has found a fitting compromise:
For those who don't recognize the faces, Rogan is calling for Diaz's older brother Nick to meet McGregor next.
The elder Diaz recently returned from suspension following his third strike for marijuana, and, as of yet, is without an opponent.
With a fighting style and attitude identical to his brother's, not only would Nick match up perfectly with the Irishman in the cage, he could help promote the would-be fight to the heights of UFC 202.
If the UFC green lights Rogan's wish, two conditions must still be met: Diaz will have to pay what's left of the $100,000 he was fined with his suspension, and McGregor, a featherweight, will have to move up to 170 pounds as he did in his fights with the younger Diaz.
