The Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather superfight rumors refuse to go away.

While neither side appears close to actually participating or organizing the proposed fantasy fight, McGregor fueled the flame with his recent comments in ESPN The Magazine's yet-to-be released "Body Issue."

"If I only had to focus on boxing, hell, I'd be neck and neck with Floyd right now," McGregor said, according to ESPN's Morty Ain. "I'm in the game of spinning plates. I'm spinning a boxing plate. I'm spinning a taekwondo plate. I'm spinning a jiujitsu plate. I'm spinning a freestyle wrestling plate. I'm spinning a karate plate.

"There are so many spinning plates in this game. If I was to put all of them down and have one boxing plate spinning, it would be like a load off my shoulders."

Mayweather remains retired from in-ring action, while McGregor is training for his rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 on Aug. 20.
