Chael Sonnen knows a thing or two about hyping a fight, and he's disturbed by Conor McGregor and his coach John Kavanagh seemingly tripping over each other.

The always-outspoken Sonnen addressed the recent drama surrounding McGregor on his "Beyond the Fight" show on Wednesday. He criticized Kavanagh for making social media posts and doing interviews that undermined McGregor's efforts to negotiate with the UFC.

In addition to appealing to fans to side with McGregor, Kavanagh also expressed disappointment in the UFC's decision to potentially keep McGregor off of the November show in New York.

"You guys have got to get on the same page," Sonnen said, according to Anton Tabuena of Bloody Elbow. "You want to hustle some hustlers, you better believe you've got to be on the same page! You can't have one guy say I don't give a damn, and have his trainer say 'boy, we sure would like to fight, can someone send some tweets in our favor?' It doesn't work!"

Sonnen worried that Kavanagh is unaware of the consequences of his actions, and implored him to stay out of his client's business when it comes to promotional tactics.

"His coach cannot be putting anything out about him ever. Period. Ever. Because he doesn't get it!" Sonnen said. "Respectfully, coach Kavanagh, You don't get it. You don't get it! Your student does. He gets it. Conor knows what's going on.

"Every time you talk and think you're helping him, you're not. You're hurting the cause. You have to stop!"
