Beckham hopes 'magnificent specimen' Ibrahimovic joins MLS franchise

David Beckham is yet to build a stadium for his proposed Major League Soccer franchise, but has already set his sights on potentially bringing "magnificent specimen" Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Miami.

At 34, Beckham appreciates that the Paris Saint-Germain striker may have hung up his boots by the time he can field his MLS team, but would snap him up in an instant if he's still around.

"We have received permission to build an arena and it will take three years - maybe two, at best," Beckham told Swedish newspaper, translated by the Press Association.

"If Ibrahimovic is still active, then I want to buy him right away. He is a physically magnificent specimen, so it's entirely possible. Who does not want a man who is prepared to kill to win?"

Despite his advancing years, Ibrahimovic continues to dominate in Ligue 1. He has netted 17 times for the Parisian outfit, helping it stretch a 19-point gap at the top of the French top tier and ease into the Champions League round of 16.

"I've played with or against the very best in the world," Beckham continued. "I want to say that I have never met anyone who was so serious during both practice and games.

"He is a born winner. He is a beast with huge self confidence, and I'm one of his biggest admirers."

PSG is currently in the midst of a winter break, but returns to domestic action on Jan. 8 when Bastia visits the Parc des Princes.
