VIDEO: Clint Dempsey tears referee's notebook during loss
USA TODAY Sports / Joe Nicholson
Clint Dempsey just lived out every football player's fantasy.
In a match that saw Dempsey's Seattle Sounders finish with just seven players through series of disciplinary decisions and injuries, the American snapped during extra time.
Dempsey grabbed the referee's notebook from the pitch after knocking it out of his hand during Seattle's U.S. Open Cup loss to the Portland Timbers, and proceeded to tear the pad in half before tossing it into the air.
Referee Daniel Radford promptly demanded Dempsey leave the field after unveiling a red card.
