VIDEO: Bartolo Colon faceplants in Citi Field tunnel
Bartolo Colon, known in certain New York boroughs as Big Sexy, is undeniably graceful on the mound for a man of his heft, routinely painting the corners of the strike zone with the kind of virtuosity that colored, say, Piccaso's "Seated Woman" or The Beatles' "Rubber Soul."
Navigating the treacherous tunnels of Citi Field, though? That's a different story. Colon, listed at 285 pounds, completely ate it Sunday night as he traversed the stadium's underbelly after Game 2 of the National League Championship Series.
After the embarrassing tumble, though, the 42-year-old scampered off with heretofore unseen swiftness.
In three relief appearances this postseason, Colon owns a 4.50 ERA with a 0.75 WHIP, notching five strikeouts in four innings while allowing a home run to Adrian Gonzalez in Game 3 of the National League Division Series.
