Blue Jays trade Randy Wolf to pitching-starved Tigers

The Toronto Blue Jays have traded left-handed pitcher Randy Wolf to the Detroit Tigers for cash considerations.

Wolf will start Saturday when the Tigers host the Texas Rangers.

The Tigers made the move after putting starters Anibal Sanchez (rotator cuff strain) and Daniel Norris (oblique strain) on the 15-day disabled list.

Wolf, 38, was pitching at Triple-A Buffalo and sported a 9-2 record with a 2.58 ERA in 23 starts and reportedly wanted out after recently requesting his release.

The veteran has started for seven major-league franchises across his 16-year career and last pitched in the show with the Miami Marlins in 2014.
