Some may stamp him as gutsy and focused, but New York Mets manager Terry Collins showed a softer side Tuesday.
In quite the heartfelt gesture, Collins wrote a letter expressing his condolences to the widow of a fan who passed away, according to Reddit user "animalchief."
It's unclear how the 66-year-old manager became aware of the fan's passing, but "animalchief" explained what happened in a post tiled: "My dad and I watched the Mets together for my whole life. He died 9 months ago. Somehow, the team found out, and Terry Collins sent this to my mother."
