Nationals' Werth to make rehab start Thursday

Jayson Werth is inching closer to the big leagues.
On the disabled list since May 19 with a left wrist injury, the Washington Nationals outfielder is set to make a rehab start at Class A Potomac on Thursday.
The 36-year-old has appeared in only 27 games in 2015. In June, Werth said he expected to return by August 1, and given his timetable, he appears to be on track.
Werth opened the season on the disabled list after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. He's hitting .208/.294/.287 with two home runs and 25 strikeouts.
