Yankees' Rodriguez dealing with tight left hamstring: 'I'm OK. I should be fine'

New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez continues to deal with discomfort in his left hamstring, but attests it isn't something he feels will sideline him moving forward.

Rodriguez, who was held out of Saturday's lineup with what manager Joe Girardi described as heavy legs, felt soreness in his hamstring during the ninth inning Monday while running to second base.

The pain isn't enough to keep A-Rod out of the lineup Tuesday, as he's hitting third and will act as the team's designated hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays.

"I'm OK. I should be fine," Rodriguez told Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. "I think it should be OK. My left hammy was a little tight the other day, so I have to keep an eye on that."

The 39-year-old continues to impress with the bat in his return from a season-long suspension. In 30 games, Rodriguez is hitting .250/.360/.558 with eight home runs and 20 RBIs.
