Elias is not listed on the next round of Cactus League starts, which likely means he lost the fifth-starter job to Taijuan Walker, the Seattle Times reports.

Analysis:

The Mariners have not named a winner yet, but the final spring schedule is a pretty good indication as the team sets up the rotation for the regular season. Elias didn't lose the competition as much as Walker won it. Elias pitched well, but he seemed likely all along that Walker would win the job. Elias will go to Triple-A and likely be called up at some point when either injuries or ineffectiveness hit the rotation.
