Report: Chase Headley receives 4-year offer worth around $65 million

Free agent third baseman Chase Headley has reportedly received a four-year offer in the range of $65 million, though it's unclear from which team, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Earlier Thursday, the Miami Marlins reached out to Headley and may be ready to make a significant offer, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Miami attempted to sign Adam LaRoche earlier this offseason but were outbid by the Chicago White Sox. Reports later surfaced the Marlins have not engaged Headley yet.

The Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees have all been linked to Headley this offseason with different levels of interest.

Headley and the Yankees had been discussed heavily earlier in the offseason but it was reported in late November that the Yankees didn't plan on getting involved in a bidding war to retain the 30-year-old's services.

After spending the first eight years of his career with the San Diego Padres, Headley was traded to the Bronx in July. In 135 games in 2014 between the two clubs, he slashed .243/.328/.372 with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs.

Headley's best year came in 2012 when he hit .286/.376/.498 with 31 home runs and 115 RBIs while also collecting the only Gold Glove of his career.
