Report: Sandoval to earn $95M over five years with club option for 2020
Details of the deal that lured Pablo Sandoval to Boston continue to trickle out. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reported Tuesday morning that the 28-year-old is set to earn $95 million over the next five years with a club option for 2020.
The Red Sox are expected to introduce both Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez, who reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with Boston on Sunday night, at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
Sandoval won three World Series championships during his seven-year tenure with the San Francisco Giants, the team that signed him as an amateur free agent in 2003, and described his decision to leave the club as the "most difficult" he has ever made.
Sandoval seems pretty enamored with the idea of playing with Ramirez, a three-time All-Star and former Rookie of the Year award winner.
