10 photos you need to see from Game 2 of the World Series

The Kansas City Royals evened up the World Series at one game apiece by winning a chippy affair against the San Francisco Giants, 7-2.

We gathered the best photos from Game 2 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.

Royals legend and Hall of Fame third baseman George Brett threw out the first pitch. Brett was part of the last Royals World Series-winning team in 1985.

Gregor Blanco started the night off with a bang, hitting a leadoff homer off Royals flamethrower Yordano Ventura. The light-hitting Blanco shows some emotion while rounding the bases.

Giants second baseman Joe Panik cleanly fields a one-hop throw from catcher Buster Posey before applying a tag on Alcides Escobar, who attempted to steal second.

Eric Hosmer made a slick defensive play in the third, and then dove to first base to narrowly beat Blanco to the bag.

Lorenzo Cain got crossed up and was unable to come up with the ball in center field during the fourth inning. The ball went off Cain's glove, allowing Pablo Sandoval to record a double, extending his postseason on-base streak to 25 consecutive games.

Escobar with the Derek Jeter-like jump throw.

The game got heated once Giants reliever Hunter Strickland entered the contest. Strickland allowed a double and then his fifth homer of the postseason, which set off a war of words with Royals catcher Salvador Perez.

Benches started clearing before cooler heads prevailed.

In the end, it was the Royals who had the last laugh.
