Impact player of the game: Nori Aoki makes pair of clutch, unorthodox catches in right field
The late-game heroics by Mike Moustakas will be the most memorable moment from the Kansas City Royals' 3-2 extra-innings victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night, but the boys in blue were able to hold leads on two separate occasions thanks to the defensive prowess of right fielder Nori Aoki.
With the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning and two men on, Aoki snared a Howie Kendrick fly ball at the very last second away from teammate Lorenzo Cain at the wall, preventing two runs from scoring.
Kendrick on Aoki's catch: "Out of all of the things in the world that can happen on that play ... You see some crazy things happen.”

Then Aoki saved the day once again in the seventh inning, tracking down a C.J. Cron liner after initially misjudging it and saving a run in the process.
