Nationals' Zimmermann tosses no-hitter vs. Marlins on season's final day

Washington Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmermann saved his best stuff for the season's final day, as the 28-year-old tossed his first career no-hitter Sunday against the Miami Marlins before a delirious crowd at Nationals Park.

Zimmermann, a two-time All-Star, collected 10 strikeouts while issuing just one walk over nine sublime innings for his fourth career complete-game shutout.

Though Zimmermann nearly lost his no-hit bid in the final at-bat of the game, a sensational diving grab by rookie Steven Souza helped the right-hander become the first Nationals pitcher to toss a no-hitter since the franchise relocated from Montreal prior to the 2005 season.
