Mariners manager hopes Iwakuma can pitch in 5 days if team advances to postseason

The Seattle Mariners' playoff hopes are on life support as they prepare for Saturday's must-win contest with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, but if a miracle does occur, they'll likely have their second-best pitcher available at some point during the playoffs.
Right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma left Friday's start after experiencing pain in his side, but checked out OK when examined by doctors Saturday. Manager Lloyd McClendon said "I hope so" when asked if the 15-game winner would hypothetically be able to pitch on regular rest if the team advanced to the American League Division Series.
The Mariners need wins in their final two games and the Oakland Athletics to fall twice in order to advance to the play-in game Monday.
