The feud between Madison Bumgarner and Yasiel Puig continued Tuesday when the left-hander hit the flamboyant outfielder with a pitch in the bottom of the first inning, causing both benches to empty.

Puig stormed angrily towards the mound after being hit, and had to be restrained by home-plate umpire Adrian Johnson whilst barking at Bumgarner. Bumgarner, however, responded in the most effective way several innings later by blasting a two-run home run off right-hander Zack Greinke, his fourth round-tripper of the season.

The acrimony between the two players began earlier this season, when Bumgarner took exception to Puig's mannerisms after the Cuban slugged a home run off him at Dodger Stadium.
