Analysis:
Gentry has been out of action since Sept. 9, and considering the fact that he has yet to resume baseball activities, it appears unlikely that he'll return prior to the conclusion of the regular season. The A's are just barely hanging on to a Wild Card spot at the moment, and if they end up advancing to the playoffs, there's a chance Gentry could be available as early as the ALDS. Until then, look for Coco Crisp to start whenever he's able, with Sam Fuld also seeing extra work in the outfield.
