MLB Game Summary - Atlanta at Texas

Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Luis Sardinas doubled twice and knocked in four runs to help the Texas Rangers sweep the Atlanta Braves with a 10-3 rout on Sunday.

Michael Choice drove in three runs, while Robinson Chirinos, Elvis Andrus and Leonys Martin each chipped in with an RBI in the win.

Colby Lewis (10-13) earned the win, allowing one run on five hits over seven innings of work for Texas, which has won three straight following a three-game skid.

"We haven't had a lot of positive to lay our hats on and this was a big deal for us," Rangers interim manager Tim Bogar said. "We ended up getting three great pitching performances in a row that gave us the opportunity to get the sweep."

Mike Minor (6-11) took the loss after yielding five runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.

"I pitched pretty bad," said Minor. "I was working behind every batter."

Ryan Doumit homered and Joey Terdoslavich knocked in a pair of runs for the Braves, who trail Pittsburgh by four games in the NL wild card chase.

Texas scored 10 runs over the first six innings to put the game out of reach early.

Adam Rosales walked with one out in the second, then Choice chased him home with the first triple of his career. Sardinas knocked in Rosales in the fourth with a double before the Rangers put up six in the fifth.

Chirinos and Sardinas delivered RBI hits preceding Choice's two-run double to center. Martin then drove in Daniel Robertson and Andrus capped the surge with a run-scoring double to left.

Sardinas' two-run double in the sixth staked the hosts to a double-digit lead.

Doumit hit his fifth homer of the season, a solo shot to right in the seventh, and Terdoslavich poked a two-run double to center in the eighth to account for the final margin.
