The New York Mets' willingness to part with prized right-handed prospect Noah Syndergaard to land Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki has reportedly been exaggerated.
Elite prospects are the necessary means to acquire controllable impact players, but the Mets, as it reportedly stands now, believe Syndergaard can grow into that role.
The 29-year-old Tulowitzki is set to have his six-year, $118 million extension kick in next season. He leads the National League in batting with a .340 average along with 21 home runs and 52 RBI.
