The Arizona Diamondbacks will collect their high-ranking front office brass and gather at the team's hotel in Cincinnati this week to start fielding offers in advance of Thursday's trade deadline.

With the playoffs off the radar, the team is looking to deal in an attempt to get things righted for 2015, reports Steve Gilbert of MLB.com.

Arizona dealt veterans Joe Thatcher and Brandon McCarthy, and the club is listening to offers for others to free up some of the club-record payroll of roughly $110 million on Opening Day.

Infielders Aaron Hill and Martin Prado are both under contract for two more years, and are owed $24 million and $22 million respectively.

In the bullpen, the D-backs could part with lefty Oliver Perez, who is under contract through 2015 and is set to earn $2.5 million, and closer Addison Reed.

"I think you need to be realistic," chief baseball officer Tony La Russa said. "If there's an opportunity to put more money in the war chest, that's all to the good when you start moving forward because the organization is going to spend it.

"There's also another plus to that where you give a young player a chance to play, then you don't have a question all winter about whether the guy can pitch or play."

Gilbert also notes the club's willingness to move outfielder Gerardo Parra, who enters his final year of arbitration next year, for the right package.
