Jake Peavy's start on Tuesday was his last as a member of the Boston Red Sox.

In 30 starts in Boston over two seasons, the 33-year-old was 5-10 with a 4.48 ERA to go with 145 strikeouts in 188 2/3 innings. The teams are said to be splitting the remaining $5 million Peavy is owned.

Hembree, 25, has thrown 39 1/3 innings of relief this season with Triple-A Fresno, collecting 46 strikeouts and posting a 3.89 ERA. MLB.com listed the right-hander as the 11th best prospect in the Giants' system while Baseball America ranked him seventh.

Escobar, 22, is sporting a 3-8 record through 20 starts this season in addition to a 5.11 ERA in 111 innings. Last season in Double-A, the left-hander finished 5-4 with a 2.67 ERA across 10 starts, leading MLB.com and Baseball America to list him as the Giants second-best prospect.

The Red Sox acquired Peavy from the Chicago White Sox last season in a three-team trade that was highlighted by shortstop Jose Iglesias heading to the Detroit Tigers and outfielder Avisail Garcia to Chicago.

Peavy, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, returns to the National League West where he spent eight seasons from 2002-09 as a member of the San Diego Padres.
