The Kansas City Royals have added an arm to their middling bullpen in a deal with the Texas Rangers.

Frasor has made 38 appearances in his 11th major-league season. The 36-year-old owns 30 punch-outs in 29 2/3 innings, sporting a 3.34 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.

The Royals, owners of MLB's 16th-ranked bullpen, are 6.5 games behind the division-leading Detroit Tigers and 2.5 games back in the Wild Card race.

Patton, a farmhand of the Royals' since 2011, has quickly ascended to Triple-A Omaha. He brings a 4.08 ERA and 1.036 WHIP to the Rangers' system.
