It's still one of the great debates in baseball history.

In 1932, exactly 84 years ago today, New York Yankees legend Babe Ruth hit one of the most memorable home runs ever in Game 3 of the World Series at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

The story goes that after being mercilessly taunted and tormented by fans in the bleachers, the Great Bambino pointed to center field and hit a home run the next pitch. The pointing gesture appears on video, though it's still unclear whether he was referencing a possible home run.

Ruth's history-making homer broke a 3-3 tie in a game the Yankees eventually won. The Yankees went on to beat the Cubs in four straight games for their fourth World Series in franchise history. Ruth, meanwhile, played two more full seasons before retiring in 1935.
