Watch: Scully sends off Dodgers fans with heartfelt song

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

Vin Scully, like the Los Angeles Dodgers, didn't go quietly in his final home broadcast from Dodger Stadium.

Charlie Culberson blasted a walk-off, solo home run to left field in extra innings for a 4-3 win over the Colorado Rockies, clinching a fourth straight National League West title for the Dodgers.

Following Sunday's game, Scully took the mic one last time. After a short speech expressing his appreciation for Dodgers players and fans, he played a recording of "Wind Beneath My Wings," a song he used to sing to his wife, with himself on vocals.

For his 67 years as the voice of the Dodgers, Scully had a habit of seeming to go off on a tangent, but always bringing it full circle and getting his point across.

It was that kind of voice, and charm, that made him so lovable, and it's the reason he'll be missed.
