Cubs' Chris Coghlan: Activated off DL

Coghlan (ribs) was activated off the DL on Thursday and is in the lineup against the Giants.

Analysis:

Coghlan will return after missing the minimum 15 days, and he was able to play in five rehab games with Triple-A Iowa during that time. He'll get the start in left field Thursday and bat seventh against Jeff Samardzija, but he likely won't be in line for a regular role down the stretch run of the season.
