Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Will make rehab start Wednesday
Greinke (oblique) will make his next rehab start for Triple-A Reno on Wednesday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis:
If all goes well for Greinke in that outing, look for him to return to the Diamondbacks the following Tuesday against the Mets. He tossed three innings in a Rookie League game last week, but the team likely wants to see him pitch a bit deeper against better competition before deploying him in the majors. He hasn't pitched for the Diamondbacks in over a month, but the right-hander will surely provide a boost to the rotation. He had just been starting to heat up (1.63 June ERA) prior to suffering the oblique strain.
