Padres' Jon Jay: Sitting out again Sunday
Jay (arm) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Analysis:
With Jay having not played since June 19 and missing his sixth straight game since being struck in the arm by a pitch, the Padres may have to seriously start considering a DL stint for the outfielder. In Jay's stead, the Padres have been giving Travis Jankowski regular starts in center field, and he's been a capable performer at the top of the lineup, going 6-for-20 with five walks, five runs and five stolen bases in his last five starts.
