Angels' Nick Tropeano: Wins second in a row against Rangers
Tropeano (3-2) allowed just four hits and a walk with six strikeouts over 6.2 shutout innings in Monday's win over Texas.
Analysis:
Tropeano had a solid start to the season, allowing two or fewer runs in five of his first seven starts, but he didn't manage to make it through six innings or more until he mustered seven frames last week against the Dodgers. Now that he's getting deeper into games, Tropeano is not just more viable in leagues with quality starts, but he'll also be much less vulnerable to losing games thanks to the poor quality of the Angels bullpen. He has just three victories despite a 2.86 ERA largely because of those short outings early on, but now that he's learning to be more efficient, it should be easier for Tropeano to earn those all-important wins.
