Red Sox's David Price: Salvages doubleheader split with sixth win
Price (5-1) notched the victory in the night half of Wednesday's doubleheader against Kansas City behind 7.1 strong innings. He allowed just five hits and two runs while striking out five with one walk.
Analysis:
This was a sharp outing, but almost a letdown after Price's 12-strikeout gem against Houston his last time out. To be fair, the Royals are much more of a contact-hitting team, but Price was able to work with that. Sure, it's still been an inconsistent first month and a half for the star lefty, but his track record makes this two-start resurgence seem real.
