Yankees' Alex Rodriguez: Hopeful for quick return
Rodriguez was diagnosed with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain, the New York Post reports.
Analysis:
This was the best potential diagnosis, and it leaves open the possibility that Rodriguez may be able to return shortly after the 15-day minimum window. The 40-year-old had finally started finding some power, as he mashed three home runs in five games before landing on the DL, so the shorter the layoff, the more likely it is he can pick up where he left off. In the meantime, Carlos Beltran figures to continue seeing most of the starts at DH in A-Rod's place.
