The Yankees lost two of three at Pittsburgh over the weekend culminating with Sunday's rubber game, a 2-1 loss that saw former Yankee Ivan Nova beat his former team. New York is now 7-0 when it scores six or more runs and 4-7 when it fails to reach six runs.

Boston lost two out of three at Baltimore over the weekend, but salvaged the Sunday game, 6-2, with a four-run first-inning outburst off Kevin Gausman. The Red Sox hit a season-high three home runs on Sunday (the first time they have hit multiple home runs in a game this season).

This is the first meeting of the season between the Yankees and Red Sox. Boston won the season series last season, 11-8, and since 2008, the Yankees and Red Sox have met 166 times and each team has 83 wins.

Aaron Judge's six April home runs are the most April home runs by a rookie in Yankees history. Judge started the season slow going 2-for-15 (.133) with zero home runs in the first five games of the season, but since then he is hitting .326, slugging .783 and has six home runs and 12 RBI in the last 12 games.

Andrew Benintendi has 25 hits already. He is the first Boston rookie with 25+ hits through the team's first 19 games of the season since Shea Hillenbrand also had 25 hits through 19 team games in 2001.

BOSTON -- Dustin Pedroia was ready to return to the Boston Red Sox lineup Tuesday night after missing two games in Baltimore because of a left leg injury suffered when he was spiked by the Orioles' Manny Machado on Friday night.
But the game was rained out and will be made up as part of a July 16 day/night double-header.

BOSTON (AP)  Aaron Judge came running across Fenway Park's right field grass, making his 6-foot-7 frame look a linebacker going for a tackle as he tumbled into the right-field stands to make a catch.
It was a highlight that he'll be able show at future birthday parties.
