Cleveland took a 2-0 series lead with a win Friday, 6-0. It was the Indians' first shutout victory in the playoffs since Game 1 of the 2001 ALDS against Seattle, and it was the Red Sox's first shutout loss in the postseason since Game 1 of the 2013 ALCS against Detroit.

This is the fourth time in Indians history the team has led a playoff series 2-0. Their only series loss in the previous three was the 1999 ALDS against Boston. The Red Sox are 23-13 (.639) when facing elimination all-time, which is the second-best winning percentage in elimination games by a franchise all-time (Miami is 4-0 in elimination games).

Lonnie Chisenhall hit his first career postseason home run Friday, and he now has five hits in his first three career postseason games. The only player in Indians history to have more hits in his first three career playoff games was Vic Wertz in the 1954 World Series (six hits).

David Ortiz has recorded 36 career RBI at home in the postseason. The only players in MLB history with more are Manny Ramirez (40), Bernie Williams (40) and David Justice (38).

Clay Buchholz has recorded a no-decision in each of his five career postseason starts, but he was a pivotal piece of the Red Sox' World Series win in 2013, when he allowed just one unearned run over 4.0 innings to start Game 4 in St. Louis.

Josh Tomlin is making his playoff debut tonight after 125 career games in the regular season. During the 2016 regular season, Tomlin issued just 20 walks, the fewest by a pitcher qualified for the ERA title.

Josh Tomlin will try to finish off a three-game sweep for the Indians, and Clay Buchholz will attempt to extend the Red Sox's season, but it is the bullpens that more likely will be affected by a rainout that creates the potential for games three straight days.
