The Angels have won 21 of their last 26 meetings with Detroit going back to September 2012. They won two out of three at home against the Tigers from May 30 to June 1 in the teams' only previous series this year.

Los Angeles took the final two games of a three-game series in Toronto ending Thursday. The Angels will look to win three in a row for the first time since a six-game winning streak coming out of the All-Star break.
