The Rangers lost, 8-4, to the Rays at Tropicana Field on Sunday, dropping two of three over the weekend, and falling to 5-5 in their last 10 games overall. Texas has allowed eight or more runs 26 times in 2016 -- tied with the Twins for most in the AL.

Cincinnati was blown out, 18-9, by the Dodgers at Great American Ball Park yesterday, splitting four games over the weekend with Los Angeles. The Reds are 5-0-1 in their last six home series -- second best in MLB since the All-Star break (Cubs -- 7-0-1).

The Rangers are 7-7 all-time against the Reds, including a split of two games earlier this season at Globe Life Park (June 21-22). Cincinnati has won four of six meetings with Texas at Great American Ball Park all-time.

Derek Holland is set to make his first start since going on the 60-day DL on June 20 with left shoulder inflammation. Holland, who will be facing the Reds for the first time tonight, is 2-1 with a 3.26 ERA in six career interleague road starts.

Dan Straily went 6.0 innings and allowed two runs (both earned) five days ago vs. the Marlins, earning the win, and improving to 5-0 with a 2.25 ERA since the 2016 All-Star break. The Reds are 7-0 in Straily's last seven starts.

Texas is 10-5 (.667) during interleague play this year -- fourth best in the majors. The Reds are just 4-11 (.267) against AL foes in 2016 (the worst interleague record in MLB).

CINCINNATI -- Yu Darvish is hitting his stride. But, that doesn't mean the Texas Rangers won't continue to be careful with how they utilize their right-handed ace.
Darvish, 30, is scheduled to make his 11th start of the season on Wednesday night in the finale of a two-game interleague series with the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. And, he'll do so on six days rest.

CINCINNATI (AP)  Dan Straily thought there was no chance Billy Hamilton would get to the ball. The center fielder ran it down and made a diving catch on the warning track, providing the only break that the pitcher needed.
Straily extended his surge since the All-Star break by pitching six innings and Joey Votto drove in a pair of runs to lead the Cincinnati Reds over the Texas Rangers 3-0 on Tuesday night.
