The Rangers lost, 9-6, at home to the Angels on Sunday, snapping their season-high tying four-game win streak. Texas is now 9-1 when scoring at least six runs in 2016 (5-10 in all other games).

Toronto defeated Tampa Bay, 5-1, at Tropicana Field yesterday, taking two of three over the weekend, and winning its first road series of the season. The Blue Jays have lost three straight games at Rogers Centre (all to the White Sox).

The Blue Jays took four of six from the Rangers last season, including winning two of three meetings at Rogers Centre. Dating to the beginning of 2013, Toronto has won six straight series vs. Texas (14-5 record overall).

A.J. Griffin went 8.0 innings and allowed just one run (earned) last Tuesday against the Yankees, earning the victory and improving to 3-0 in his first four starts in a Rangers' uniform. Griffin is 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA in two career starts against the Jays in Toronto.

R.A. Dickey allowed six runs (all earned) in 6.0 innings last Tuesday against the White Sox, taking the loss, and dropping to 0-3 with a 7.06 ERA in his last four starts. Dickey is 2-2 with a 3.71 ERA in four career starts against the Rangers.

Josh Donaldson went deep in yesterday's win, giving him an AL-high nine homers on the season. Including last year's ALDS, Donaldson is batting .304 with eight bombs and 21 RBI in his last 35 games vs. the Rangers.

A quality start may not seem like all that much for a major leaguer pitcher to be proud of, but it carries some weight for Derek Holland considering how far he's come.
A rough 2015 seems to be in the rear view for the Texas Rangers left-hander, who is coming off a solid outing ahead of facing the Toronto Blue Jays in Thursday night's finale of a four-game series at Rogers Centre.
