The Tigers won two of three games against the Blue Jays in Detroit in early July, recording double-digit hits in each game. Detroit has played well in Toronto since 2010, winning 10 of 18 games and averaging 5.4 runs per game.

The Tigers have lost six of their last seven games, with their only win coming from Justin Verlander's one-hitter. Detroit has surrendered just two runs in its last two games after surrendering 20 runs in its previous two games.

The Blue Jays have won seven of their last nine games and are enjoying an 18-5 record in the month of August (.783). The Jays are scoring 6.04 runs per game this month (139/23) -- their highest scoring month in the past 10 years.

Matt Boyd returns to Toronto for the first time since the David Price trade on July 30. Boyd has a career 14.85 ERA (11/6.2) and opponents are batting .441 (15/34) against him across his two career starts at the Rogers Centre.

After a rough start to the season, R.A. Dickey has a 3.32 ERA (38/103.0) since June 1 (5.77 ERA in April/May). Dickey is 6-2 with a 4.32 ERA (32/66.2) in 11 career starts against the Tigers.

Edwin Encarnacion is batting .386 (32-for-83) with 10 doubles, 19 runs scored, seven home runs, and 24 RBI over his season-high 22-game hitting streak. Encarnacion's hit streak is tied for the fifth-longest in Blue Jays history.

Although it's highly unlikely that Edwin Encarnacion can top his latest performance during a lengthy hit streak, he'll at least try to keep the Toronto Blue Jays clicking at the plate in his encore.
While Encarnacion will attempt to extend his streak to 25 games Sunday, the Blue Jays look to finish off their first three-game home sweep of the Detroit Tigers in 12 years.

Encarnacion hit three home runs, prompting Toronto fans to toss their hats onto the field, and tied a team record with nine RBIs as the high-scoring Blue Jays routed the Detroit Tigers 15-1 Saturday.
