The Royals have gone 14-3 against the Rays since 2013 -- the best record by any team against another (minimum 10 games) over the last three seasons.

The Royals have recorded at least 10 hits in eight straight games vs. the Rays -- tied for the second-longest streak of its kind since Tampa Bay joined MLB in 1998. The Angels hold the record against the Rays with 12 straight double-digit hit games spanning the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP)  Kendrys Morales lost sight of his deep drive to center field. Turns out he missed seeing the end of a quirky long ball.
Morales hit his 15th homer, Edinson Volquez pitched into the seventh inning and the AL Central-leading Kansas City Royals beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 on Friday night.
