Minnesota has lost two straight and six of its last eight games overall, while being held to two runs or fewer in five of those eight contests. The Twins have hit 16 home runs at home so far this month -- tied for the most in the majors this July.

The Pirates have won three of their last four games after losing five of their previous six contests. Pittsburgh is 10-3 in its last 13 interleague games.

Mike Pelfrey is 0-5 with a 6.87 ERA in his last seven starts and will be seeking his first win since June 7. Pelfrey will be making his second start against the Pirates this season after allowing five hits and one run in six innings of work back on May 20 (no decision).

MINNEAPOLIS (AP)  Jung Ho-Kang is enjoying the spotlight in the major leagues and showing the Pittsburgh Pirates just what they hoped when they brought him over from South Korea.
Kang hit a tiebreaking home run off the facing of the second deck in left-center field in the ninth inning, lifting Pittsburgh over the Minnesota Twins 8-7 on Tuesday night.
