The Rangers are 80-40 (.667) when hosting the Mariners since September 2002. But Seattle took two of three games from the Rangers when these teams met at Safeco Field a week ago. In the finale, the Mariners overcame a 10-5 deficit with six runs in the final three innings to pull out an 11-10 victory.

The bottom four spots of Seattle's batting order (6-7-8-9) are batting a combined .193, which is second only to Texas (.170) for the lowest in the American League. Meanwhile, the top five spots of the Mariners' order is batting .270, which ranks fourth in the AL and tops the AL West.

Texas snapped a three-game losing streak, its longest of 2015, with a 5-4 victory over the Angels in 11 innings on Sunday. The Rangers were hit by two more pitches and now lead the majors with 20 HBP.

Taijuan Walker matched a career high with eight strikeouts against Houston last Tuesday. After allowing 14 earned runs over his first two starts this season (7.1 innings), Walker permitted just one in 5.1 innings versus the Astros. But his ERA still sits at 10.66.

Yovani Gallardo has not managed to last more than 6.0 innings in any of four starts this season. After allowing a .229 batting average in his first time through opposing lineups, Gallardo has permitted a .346 mark thereafter.

Mitch Moreland went 3-for-5 on Sunday, producing his first three-hit game since May 25 last year. In 2015, Moreland is batting 300 points higher in Rangers victories (.474) than losses (.174).
