The Red Sox and Orioles split a four-game series last weekend in Boston. Baltimore won the season series each of the past three seasons (2012-14), going 35-21 against the Red Sox over that span.

The Red Sox fell 2-1 to the Rays in Tampa Bay yesterday, their first one-run loss of the season (4-1). It was also their first loss this season when scoring first (7-1).

Baltimore has lost four straight games for the first time since May of last year, giving up 7.8 runs per game in those losses. The Orioles have an MLB-high 5.15 ERA, including an MLB-worst 5.82 ERA by starters.

Adam Jones ranks in the top two in the majors in hits (25, first), batting average (.424, first), slugging percentage (.763, second), OPS (1.232, second), runs scored (14, t-second), and RBI (16, t-second).

Miguel Gonzalez is 5-1 with a 2.89 ERA in seven career starts against the Red Sox. That includes a win in Sunday's 8-3 win at Fenway Park (5.0 IP, 3 ER). Just as on Sunday, he will be opposed by Boston's Rick Porcello (5.0 IP, 8 ER and the loss on Sunday).

Hanley Ramirez has a team-high five home runs, including a three-run shot off Miguel Gonzalez on Sunday. His five homers are tied for second most among MLB players to have changed teams in the offseason, behind Nelson Cruz of Seattle (8); Houston's Luis Valbuena also has five.
