With a half-game lead in the standings, the Mariners and Rangers meet for a two-game series. The Rangers hold a 4-3 edge in the season series and took three of four when these teams met in Texas earlier this season.

Seattle's win on Sunday snapped a four-game losing streak. After winning seven of eight road games from April 29 to May 7, the Mariners have dropped three of their last four away from home.

Similarly, Texas' win against the Blue Jays on Sunday snapped their own four-game losing streak. Beginning with a road game at Seattle on April 25, the Rangers have since gone 7-15 -- the worst record in the league during that span.

Hisashi Iwakuma, 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA, is making his fourth start of the season. After allowing four earned runs in his season debut, Iwakuma has thrown 8.0 shutout innings in each of his last two starts.

Colby Lewis, with a win in his last start, has alternated a win with either a no decision or loss over his six starts this season. In seven career home starts versus the Mariners, Lewis is 4-1 with a 2.96 ERA but he is winless in his last two home starts against Seattle.

With a four-for-five effort on Sunday, Robinson Cano is now hitting .318 for the season -- reaching base in 26 straight games. Cano has seven RBI in seven games against the Rangers this season and hit his only home run of the season on April 17 at Texas.
