Jose Angel Crespo, an example of Aston Villa's poor recruiting, is returning to La Liga.
On Thursday, Crespo joined Rayo Vallecano on loan from Villa until the end of the season, adding "the last of the barrio teams" to a resume that includes the likes of Cordoba, Sevilla, and Racing de Santander.

Crespo, a 28-year-old defender who hails from Andalusia, Spain, joined Villa from Cordoba last year but has made only one Premier League appearance this season, marking the umpteenth example of a player who was brought to Villa Park but is making little to no impact.
At Rayo, Crespo will wear No. 22.
