Atletico Madrid president: We're interested in Tevez but deal will be 'difficult'
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo is interested in signing Juventus striker Carlos Tevez, but admits a potential deal will be difficult to complete given the Argentine's well-established desire to return to childhood club Boca Juniors.
Tevez, 31, is under contract for one more season with Juventus, at which point he's expected to return to Argentina, where he began his career with Boca.
Naturally, after a season in which he scored 27 goals between Serie A and the Champions League, some of Europe's top sides are starting to snoop around the possibility of convincing him to forego a move back home.
Atletico Madrid is one of those clubs, though Cerezo seems almost consigned to the fact he will not be able to complete a deal.
"It's difficult to compete with personal sentiment, as his heart might tell him to go to Boca, but he's a player we like who is a great person and professional," he told Radio Uno, as quoted by ESPN FC.
