Barcelona manager Luis Enrique: 'Suarez gave us a few doubts at first'

Settling in at Barcelona is no easy task.

Just ask Keirrison. Or Alexander Hleb. Or Alex Song. Or, many would argue, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

When Luis Suarez arrived at the Camp Nou, there were some initial - and unnecessary - concerns that the Nacional product would find himself as yet another footballer unable to find his footing at a club where only the top of the top survive.

Of course, the worries stemmed largely from Suarez joining Barcelona after being assigned a four-month ban from FIFA for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup, which didn't allow him to feature for the club in a competitive match until the end of last October.

However, with 19 goals and 10 assists in 29 appearances, Suarez is proving that he doesn't have any plans to become another flop at the Camp Nou.

Ahead of the second leg of Barcelona's Champions League clash versus Paris Saint-Germain, manager Luis Enrique was inevitably asked whether Suarez is settling in better than Ibrahimovic did in 2012-13, to which he provided a very honest response.

"I can't evaluate that because I didn't have Ibrahimovic," Enrique replied, according to Spanish daily AS

"Suarez gave us a few doubts at first. We can only speak in the highest terms of his thought process and willingness from the word go. The uncertainty you have when you sign a player is just that, even if he is world-class. You have to get used to a team, your teammates, the city. It can be difficult. His adaptation has been meteoric."
