Cristiano Ronaldo is 'the greatest athlete of all-time,' claims agent

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is not only the best footballer in the world, he is also the best athlete in the history of human existence.

Is that a stretch? Probably, but given the source of that grandiose claim, it's not surprising in the slightest. Super-agent Jorge Mendes, who represents Ronaldo - along with a host of other marquee names in the sport - told Spanish daily AS that the Portuguese attacker has no equals.

"In addition to being the best footballer in history, he is the greatest athlete of all time," Mendes said. "You cannot compare him with anyone."

"He is the best player in the biggest sport in the world, in which there is more competition than in any other. For that reason, he is the best sportsman in the world."

And how much should a team be forced to pay should they have any interest in signing the greatest athlete to ever grace the earth?

 "The price that is stated in his release clause - €1 billion."

Ronaldo has scored an unfathomable 19 goals in just 11 matches this season, but these claims should be taken with a tonne grain of salt.
