Cristiano Ronaldo on Manchester United: 'I wish I can come back one day'
Cristiano Ronaldo is loving life at Real Madrid, but admits he's interested in a potential return to Manchester United at some point down the line.
Ronaldo, the reigning Ballon d'Or winner, is in the midst of a long-term contract with the defending European champions, an agreement he has every intention of honoring.
But since joining Real Madrid in 2009, the Portuguese winger has been unable to escape talk of a potential return to Old Trafford, where he established himself as one of the best players on the planet and became a fan favorite, helping the Red Devils win eight major trophies in a six-year spell.
Speaking with the Daily Mail (via FOX Soccer), Ronaldo reiterated that he could see himself making an emotional return to his former club one day.
"I love Manchester. Everyone knows that I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart," he said. "I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.
"I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there. I really did love being at Manchester United."
Let the countdown begin.
