Turan hopes to see out Barcelona contract amid reported China interest

Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan isn't planning on joining the Chinese Super League any time soon.

The Turkey international's agent is believed to have received an offer from Guangzhou Evergrande last week before discussing the offer with Turna and Barcelona representatives, according to Dario Sport.

Despite the reported interest and his reduced role since arriving at the club, Turan insists he is eager to remain in the Catalan capital and fulfill the contract he agreed to when Barcelona signed him from Atletico Madrid in a transfer that reportedly cost €34 million.

"I am very happy at Barcelona," Turan said in an interview with beIN Sports.

"I have a contract until I am 33 and I want to see out that contract here. I am playing in a team where the best players in the world play and I am trying to be an important part of that team. I believe I have been successful in doing that."

Turan, who's been limited to just 14 La Liga appearances this season because of injuries, agreed to a five-year contract when he joined Barca in 2015.

However, reports surfaced last summer suggesting manager Luis Enrique was willing to offload the 29-year-old after his first season. Turan had only managed to make 25 appearances in all competitions in a reduced role compared to the prominent part he played in Madrid.

Barcelona director Robert Fernandez ruled out a transfer shortly after.

Turan will look to make his second consecutive start Thursday when Barcelona takes on Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final encounter. Barca won the first leg 1-0 at the Anoeta Stadium.
