Report: Real Sociedad negotiating for Sevilla's Llorente
Real Sociedad is in advanced talks with Sevilla over a deal for Fernando Llorente, with the Basque club looking to take the out-of-favour striker initially on loan, according to ESPN FC's Peter O'Rourke.
Llorente's buy-out clause is reportedly set at €20 million, which could be an obstacle for Real Sociedad. Conversely, Sevilla is looking to part ways with the player permanently. Any fee would prove to be a profit, as Sevilla signed Llorente on a free transfer from Juventus in August 2015.
Llorente failed to nail down a spot in Sevilla's starting XI last season, scoring just seven goals in all competitions. He was also an unused substitute during Sevilla's historic win over Liverpool in May's Europa League final.
There are no certainties Llorente will get more chances under newly appointed Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli, while Real Sociedad would offer him more playing time.
Llorente has two years remaining on his current contract.
